Erasing Your Memory

I seem to be reliving different phases of my life memories lately and this one woke me up from sleep early this morning pleading to be put down as a song...and yes it was real and though so very many years ago I can still recall the feelings I felt back then as acute as if it were yesterday...love can hurt.

Erasing Your Memory

By: Fee

Go to a bar with friends and I talk so tough

Three days of beard, I’m looking rough

Last one to leave and I drank too much

Joke round my tears, say it’s still not enough

Erasing your memory, it’s all that I can see

Bachelor pad with a view of old red bricks

It’s not rural but it sure is out in the sticks

Drinking warm beer, the fridge don’t work

As I hide in the dark, its how I get my kicks

Erasing your memory, it won’t let go of me

TV noise mesmerizes till early morning light

I slip off to sleep somewhere in the night

In my rumpled clothes from the day before

If you were here you’d say boy you look a sight

Erasing your memory, of how you set me free

I don’t blame you, but I can’t blame me

Together I just believed we would always be

Now I just look around at this dump called home

Knowing your new friend has my house key

Erasing your memory, it’s how it has to be

Erasing your memory, that won’t let go of me

Erasing your memory, of how you set me free….

Fee,
This doesn't sound like a fond memory but it's part of you today. It's a curve in the road, which led to the family you love now. Strong imagery in this song. Great work! Hugs~

I can attest to the occassional haunting of a memory or two - but although a haunting now, they did in fact help to shape us whom we are today. Enjoyed!

Well Cuz those are the memories we prefer to push back in our minds to be forgotten but hurt and pain is always there until we deal with it, until then it is there to haunt us as this memory has haunted you through the night. Thank you for sharing.

Love ya face Cuz XOXOXO Rose

It's funny how we sometimes try to push a memory we would rather forget away...but no matter how hard we try...it still keeps pushing itself to the surface.

Fee...if it weren't for those scars, memories wouldn't be.
You need a double Captain Morgan dark rum, neat, no ice and no talk, just a friend which has an eraser.

Funny thing about memory - the harder we try to erase, the more vivid the images and feelings become. What is the saying? "What we resist persists." You have conjured a very clear account of a time in your life and have allowed us a glimpse to your heart - your sensitive heart.

Your description of the situation is quite vivid, I could easily picture the scene. "Erasing" is an interesting choice, because I think that that's what men try to do more often with painful memories. I think that accepting them is a more effective way to move on.

Best wishes,

Good Morning Fee,
Oh I Can So Relate To Your Poetic Song. I was miserable for 2 years once missing someone I loved deeply.
I see you said "Phases of My Life' I say that exact same thing. I never heard no-one else do that before. What a circle it is these phases!
We start off learning, and we grow into wisdom. (or it has mercy on us-lol) then we grow older and eventually forget....I feel a vicious cycle going on in this thing called life & missed opportunities ;)
I wonder what her thoughts are for you when she reminisces.
You know we women do feel regret too. And hold memories fondnesses.
Lots of "what ifs too"...well till I seen butterfly effect :)
Have A Fabulous Easter!
