I love singing and playing guitar around a bonfire but it does have a tendency to make the heartache at times with sadness that is hard to define...

I Sang A Song For You

By: Fee

Last night I sang a song for you

And I strummed it on my old guitar

As the bonfire burned brightly

Beneath that sparkling northern star

I quickly drowned out all the laughter

Of the guest’s chatter gathered round

I let my voice rise slowly higher

Tell there was not another sound

I sadly sang about the tender longing

For a lady of in my heart but far away

The lyrics kept catching in my throat

As the chords seemed so hard to play

My vision blurred with salty brine

I hung my head at the chorus fade

Yes, last night I sang a song for you

And with my heartache for it paid…

If I could I would pick up that guitar and song for other someone as well around a campfire, nothing is saddest that taking the fire's warmth alone.
Great song my friend...and make that old guitar cry.

Very nice. Most folks dont realize there is always someone out there thinking of you-- and we are always thinking of someone as well. Inspiring, as lost love always tends to do this. :)

Soul-fully Romantic, Fee~

"...I let my voice rise slowly higher
Tell there was not another sound"

A moment worth existing...

Love’s enslavement burrows, deep down... its effects, still laying, un-germinated, encapsulated, pervading the flesh, invading the soul, ...and when you least expect it, the moment, the memories, the heartaches, the tears...the past, the song...comes out like a dormant seed, like a disease...when you get run down, the capsules infiltrate your being and you find yourself in another outbreak!

Loved it! Fee...
Love and Peace~

Wow, Fee. Every woman from Canada to Australia just sighed a collective "aw, how sweet".
One of your greatest talents is your ability to write in a way that so many people can identify, indeed inject, themselves into your words.
Well done. This truly shows your poet's heart.

Heartaching yearning. I think being outside instead of inside walls seems to make one lonelier since there is so much emptiness around you. Excellent song. Liz
