This poem reminds me of why I write; how it comes from the heart & soul. However, I love sharing my work. I know not everyone will like my stuff, but sharing it makes me feel lucky. I feel even more fortunate when I can read other people's books, poems, and short stories. Together...we adventure! I like this poem. It had the potential to become predictable in the telling but you threw in unexpected changes along the way. The mark of a talented writer! Love and Hugs,

I write for me, are you kidding, I write so many- some couldn't and wouldn't be able to KEEP UP! NOt with my diffent genres! I write what I know, I write what I feel, I write about the day and what comes into ME! as you do see... and YOU KNOW WHAT, I wish I did get critical comments, on something I write! So I can learn from something, style, form, structure, Puniation ( yea, that) lol - Anything, so I can GROWWWwwwwwwwwww!

You are so very wise! Poets are like snowflakes, all are different and beautiful and all have a different message to share. I always write for me and if a reader enjoys what I write, that's a bonus. HUGS! SC

Boy, as you well know, I can relate to this so well.
I often will not post poems FOR FEAR of people's reactions.
I write solely for me and sometimes I overcome my fears enough to share.
Many times my best work is the most intimate look into my soul.
Something I am not real comfortable sharing.
I love your outlook and even validation.

I agree with part of what you said. First I think that the writer should review themselves in their mind, and if it isn't something that they think that others would like then maybe rewrite or just don't put it on the den. I don't review much, but this one time I think you should think it over. If you didn't put it on the den then no one would be able to read it or review it. If everyone liked the same thing it would be a dull world. As long as you are paying for it then write what you want and others should do the same, review or not. Some people are just whinny butts anyway.

The best advice a writer could give or get. If we write for others we will soon lay the pen down.

write for yourself first and that is all that matters, that you like and believe in your own work...

Thats Bizzare to me that someone would complain about not recieving quantity of reviews.
Alot of readers don't like to comment, or leave it in public view & just rather send PM's.
Or maybe don't like what they read & don't wish to say "Hey that really sucked" or "HUH? What was that?" lol
...shhhh....I won't mention my sucky ones & my questionables ;)
Encouragement may come in small packages :)But a little is better than nothing (PMA)

Besides all that being said, some people are just down right Loveable & Popular, I have seen some pages that blow me away with a huge long scroll of reviews...WOW!! :)

Oh! but I don't agree. Perhaps years ago, I would have agreed with this.

It depends whether you're writing for fun, or whether you're writing to become an author. If you're writing to become an author, then you need readers and readers' response.

It's easy to mumble jumble to oneself all day long, and then write them out as fast as machine gun bullets as if to validate to oneself that the thoughts are there. Some people do that a lot all day.

Hope I didn't offend anyone, but I find this to be true.
