Sweet Tarts

Most of us remember those little rolls of candy that had sweet little love sayings on them...how many of us used them to coyly try and give a message to someone we really liked but were too shy to tell them so...I wonder.

Sweet Tarts

By: Fee

In the midst of midnight madness

I paused to think of you again

When I picked up a roll of sugar candy

Thought of that first kiss shared in the rain

That was back when love was yet not spoken

And your lips tasted of that Sweet Tart

The pink one I placed in your hand

It said “Please be mine.” framed in a heart

As fingers explored tomorrow’s possibilities

While tongue to tongue we shared a dance

Wet warmth was our breath of our passion

Where only our hearts dared to take a chance

And with just that sweet roll of sugar candy

With love’s romantic words that spoke

I remember still tasting the taste of loving you

That next morning when I awoke…

Because I am not a Limey that title, Sweet Tarts" didn't scandalized my shy soul, and yes, that first kiss, the wandering fingers (will I dare?) and Fee...thank for the memories!
