Watered Dreams

In misty fogs of the faded hours

Where the granite kisses ground

The silence will echo heartaches

When there’s no one else around

The ageless fairy princess stands

Her gossamer wings red burgundy

Her jeweled teardrops kiss stone

She whispers his name tenderly

They once dwelt in different worlds

His was human…hers a mystic realm

Alone, love was a ship tossed at sea

Cast adrift with no one at the helm

Then their different worlds collided

Romance knew not what was to be

A chance meeting and a stolen kiss

Now the rest was just love’s history

Ah but mortals live but so many years

While a fairy princess lives eternally

So she buried him upon the very site

Where they fell in love so magically

So o’er his bones long turned to dust

She stops to talk to him each day

Her teardrops make the flowers grow

Of their dreams of hope of yesterday…

I find that the melancholy tone of this makes me think of my losses and the wonderment of what might have been. It is indeed a poem worthy of the poet laurites of yesteryear, but written by one of our very own poets.

God bless you. Kathy

... and now we know the truth as to why flowers always blossom so beautifully on a grave! My nieces are only 6 years' younger than me and, when we were ALL children, I used to hide a tiny Swiss log cabin musical box in the hedgerows and tell the littler ones fairy stories about it: the looks on their faces were so magical that I quite believed the stories myself! Such is the power of heart and imagination, and I feel both combine here on your page as I read this, Felix. Peter Pan lives evermore! :)) xx

"Her jeweled teardrops kiss stone". Only a fairy princess is capable of such peerless acts of tenderness, love. A romantic keeper Felix. I enjoyed it very much. Love and peace to you my dear friend. Jon Michael
