This old Heart
Its not a brand new model
Right off a show room floor
In fact I have to admit its
Been round the block a time or two
It’s been beaten, and broken
And patched up here and there
Some gave up on it, I know
And a few just didn’t care
Its been stepped on, kicked
Left deserted and empty I’m told
Wasn’t worth the bother
So it was thrown out in the cold
Then out of the blue you found it
Warmed it with loving care
Now it beats steady and healthy
My old heart when you’re near
Don’t need a band aid
Scars fading fast
My heart and yours
Together at last…

I quite understand this poem. I guess most of us could, but some of us more than others. I liked how you took the heart and told of its disappointments, wars, etc., and you did it well. The ending was good, a rejuvenated heart, now that is something I like to see. Enjoyed it, Felix.
