The Songwriter
He sits in the gazebo in the moonlight
Smelling summer scents on the breeze
It wasn’t so long ago they had danced
Hearing music of the wind in the trees
A glimpse of scarlet red on moonlight
He snatches from out of the night air
It's the silk scarf that she’d been wearing
When he whispered of love in her ear
Holding the scarf to his yearning lips
He kisses it as he longs to kiss her
Picks up his pen to write a love song
Like the countless, he wrote her before
Then smiling he puts down his pen
walks to their cabin by the seashore
For that song he could finish tomorrow
The true song was their love ever more…..
