Your words are so very meaningful, Fee, and touched my heart deeply. "Love Hurts"......Roy Orbison, came to mind while reading your poem. He also sang, "Only love can break a heart. Only love can mend it again."..... My heart goes out to you.

This is so sad. I'm not sure the old adage about having loved and lost is better than not to have loved at all is true. Perhaps if the love was shared before it was lost one could eventually look back past the bad times and remember the good with a smile. I wouldn't know though. All my loves have been unrequited.
