Shadow of my days is a poem that shines light on the writers understanding of God's will and perspective concerning the death of his children. For the scripture reads, beautiful in the eyes of God is the death of one of his saints. Therefore, the writer preaches his own funeral in the life of this poem to encourage believers in Christ that it is good to embrace the reality of departure without fear, but rather with praise and thanksgiving. For every human beings life is glowing with the goodness, mercy, love, blessing, and glory of God. And if at all possible we should meet our day of departure with a thankful and joyful heart in remembrance that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that our names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Am I but only dust.? Am I but only flesh? Born into this world alone to die and be laid to rest.  However, I  was given days to sing and shout, and nights to scream and moan. With the grace to see the harvest of the seed that I  have sown.

But I'm just a candle in the wind, I'm just a fading song. And when my fire is blown out by the winds of time, then all my days are gone. There will be no more celebrations of the day when I was begotten. For man is but a shadow of all of his days and then he's soon forgotton.

A drink of life was poured for me, yea, heaven filled my cup.  And the Lord Jesus gave me understanding  so that I may drink it up.  And yes, still I bless the Lord God knowing that most all my days in earth has surely passed. Through which I've learned only those things we do for Christ are going to last.

Yes, I'm just a candle in the wind, I'm just a fading song. When my fire is blown out by the winds of time then all of my days are gone. There will be no more celerbrations of the day when I was begotten. For man is but a shadow of all of his days and then he's soon forgorten.
