~ Eternal Hope ~
Within each of us there lives
this inner spark that hope give
It dwells inside like a glowing light
waiting to fulfill and take flight
In young children its fresh and new
as their hopes and wishes are few
As teenagers struggle to be strong
their hope list becomes long
Young adults just starting out
hopes and dreams is what it’s all about
In middle age, expectations wane
hopes dim as maturity gains
During the autumn years it brings
a mixture of many things
To the disgruntled, unhappy few
they dismiss hope from their life’s too
For the young at heart they will tell
hope springs eternal bringing love
and joy as well
