~ Changing Weather ~

The air was like cut crystal

the dawn sky so pale

it looked white

Drifting clouds boiled up

into dark thunderheads

a cold breeze moved

across the land

shaking the laurel overhead

with a rattling like dry bones

The rain began to fall

huge drops splattered

limbs overhead

as the firs and pines

let go their long-held breath

in a fragrant sigh

The patter of drops

was punctuated

by the muffled thud

of heaver drops striking

deep into the packed pine needles

Hail was coming with the rain

suddenly there were

tiny white particles of ice

bouncing crazily

on the packed ground

with stinging cold

The hail pocked the water

making it dance

melting on impact

disappearing

into and becoming

one

Hail does sting, but it goes back to moisture and fluid again. The water accepts it and travels to new lands and places and takes it along in its grasp and ever onward and forward always running here and there.

An exceptionally beautiful shower of magic, nature, and poetry. Lulls one into a gentle state of surprise and gratitude.

Wow! I agree with Jerry, Carole! You wove magic with this beauty! A captivating cohesion of raindrops in varied forms among the pines
in a beauitful weather dance! Kudo's!

Love,
Eileen

I was there. You weaved your wordplay spell so magically, that I was there when the sleet began to fall, some of it went down my collar and THAT was cold, I'm here to tell ya.

Carole,

You and I on the same page today...although winter storms are rare here. :) Beautifully imaged and written, I could feel the change in the atmosphere. :)

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
