Love wonders
what should it be
which fantasy needs fulfilled
who's plea should it grant
Some hold a secret dream
that starts when young
and is still pure
maturity can see a dream
through cynical eyes as tarnished
And still love wonders
do they know what they want
or even care I am still here
waiting
Does anyone know what
will touch their hearts
and fill up empty lives
or am I just lingering
where insecurities hide
Love begins to wonder are you worthy
can a home be found with you
This is to show that all can find love, many from their childhood sweethearts, but love will come if wait long enough. It is great write from your heart.
A very deep and resonant questioning and questing into and after the essence of what love is - and is not, perhaps. In one love encounter, we can run the whole gamut from exhilarated rosy-specs highs to cynical, all-doubting lows... and back again. So where does truth lie? Or is it just us and our own shortcomings? You ponder fundamental and touch reaches of the soul's yearnings and aspirations here, Carole, and you do so fearlessly and with great honesty and integrity. This, I'm sure, touches a chord with all of us. TY Kate xx

I like this but then again I feel you could write about a telephone book and I would find it fascinating-you are gifted in poetry and my life is richer knowing you
I LOVE these reflections on LOVE, Carole. They are so meaningful to me. Do we really know what LOVE is? Thank you. Still, I am sending you my sentiments of LOVE and peace and also my best wishes,
Beautifully imaged and penned, Carole - I concur with Jerry (below): amazing.

I think this stands at the top of the heap when it comes to the interests of love and what is mangled in the name of love . . . Amazing job, Carole . . . Truly amazing . . .
"And still love wonders"
True love will always be delineated by innocence, curiosity, and intensity. Your heart is dripping honey here. Blessings ...

Now, I know. You're not just a poet. You're a poet's poet. And a very excellent one, too. As Myrna said, "Who woould a-thunk it?"
Imaginable, indeed ! ! ! - Bill
I had never thought about it before but it does make one think... what exactly does 'love' see when it looks at all of us trudging through? I found myself rereading this several times and smiling each time.. Love Wonders indeed..)
Myrna
Strange, isn't it? Love is the most powerful emotion known to humankind, and yet we have great difficulty in defining it. We all want it but oftentimes fail to recognize its presence. We chase it and dream about it and then treat it with disdain if in our unilateral endeavors it fails to fulfill our every need.
"Love Wonders" turns the table and presents a viewpoint few of us acknowledge in our egocentric world composed only of self, the antithesis of true love.
A provocative and thoughtful work, Carole. Very nicely done!
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
Inspirational poetry, written from the heart and soul. Verses that are well-suited for reading on a rainy day and that are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
