Very enigmatic and thought provoking.

Excellent poetry. The voice in the head. The utterings of the mind, how they replicate themselves, again and again, then take hold of your emotions. Do we then act? Or, do we take contrary action? Do we even have self-will? Or are we merely reacting to unconscious, capricious inspirations bubbling up from deep within the maw of psychic and spiritual darkness? Much to ponder here.

Fascinating write, Carole.

My special love is poetry that tells a story. And in "The Chase," I'm reminded of what so many writing teachers preach: "The first real rule of successful story-writing is...find a feeling, the more intense, the better."

But after we find our feeling, then we have to figure out the best way to capture in words whatever it is that so excites us. And where does that bring us? You guessed it. Right back to "The Chase."

What a thought-provoking write, Carole. You nailed it. And I loved it.

A very thoughtful piece of writing...and we are always at the mercy of our readers, no matter what our intentions... also as has been commented, the surprise sometimes with what our words have brought forth..but this is all part of the field we are in..
