Renaissance

inspiration's light faded

poet's pens were laid aside

conversations became distant whispers

like a retreating summer rain

creative essence wandered on the plains

lost in a Hoosier haze

each drifted to distant shores

who could recall when it began?

the beauty of friend's creative alliance

where did it reside during

a hot summer hiatus?

hidden beyond a hundred sunsets

or arcing across the night skies

chasing beams of parchment moons

two ardent buffs of rhyme and verse

now lost for words

the invisible thread between two souls

slowly losing its sway

pure chance proclaimed a poetic challenge

sparking a creative flow

invading the long silence
