Prometheus Unwired
In nameless mountains with snow-nippled peaks,
a frightened child was born in a chamber of freaks.
Extracted from a cryogenic womb
that shone in geometric light
was the first born of darkness
the prince of night…
Created by desire and greed
and for some superficial military need
was a biomechanical, thinking weapon.
A genetically enhanced, alien half-breed
– Project X…a friend to man… a friend indeed?
Wired to computers in umbilical suspension
a life was fed.
Cybernetic programmer’s nurturing their joy,
unaware they’d soon be dead.
Something went wrong – a programming error
Result?
Creation and computer became a newfound terror.
Creation uncontained, killed unrestrained
washing walls in rivers of blood red rain
whilst sirens screamed the executioner’s song.
Human ingenuity managed to contain the monstrous
menace they’d created
but if they thought they’d won – they thought wrong.
Project X was lost.
The deaths were kept secret
and so was the cost.
Man, monster or machine?
The question the creators pondered
While ‘It’, was sealed in a deep
black tomb and wondered – why?
Super-weapon and mankind’s friend
had time to contemplate a suitable end.
Waiting in the hiss of ultra-sonic silence
to bring sweet revenge.
What the human race had sired,
thought of its creators and what
they desired.
It would grant them their wish
and bring them the fire…
just like Prometheus – Unwired.

Just curious, are we in MATRIX already?...Are we all rebels just because we are here in the real world already, trying to understand what went wrong with the computer systems that we were in?
Which one is the real world? The one inside the computer, or the one that we are living in now?
Sandie May Angel a.k.a. Sandie Angel :o)
Good luck with being published old chap...

Yes indeed and all for what? Mankind does like to mess with the unknown, agreed that it is progression, but progression should also include the knowledge of a "fix" so is mankind so wise? Brilliant write and thought provoking.
warmest hugs my friend ;)
