My my my, if "Idle hands are the devil's workshop," I hate to think what's likely to happen when a thinking MACHINE "in digital bliss" gets bored.

Very eerie. Bored machines holding the universe. Not a good combination. Wonderful suspenseful poems you have here. can hardly wait for the next.

Nothing worst then a bored machine........feels like a horror begining! Great write.
Hmmm, becoming bored after attaining the knowledge of the universe... an unloved child in digital bliss... much to ponder here Paul. Love the way you set this one up.

Awwwww!!! Makes me sooooo think of Marvin The Paranoid Android!! :)) Even metal needs a hug now and then! Especially my car, otherwise she gives me hell. Will the ultimate answer be 42? Hmmmmm, this is gettin spooky... machines with time on their hands and feeling unloved and bored... sounds like me. We can get naughty, you know.... perhaps that's the point. Since you made a reference to "Prometheus Unwired" I went to read it before I read this. I'm glad I did. Not just because Prometheus was excellent, but because now I know there's more to this poem. On the surface it seems clear; men program machine, then leave it alone on the shelf -- maybe declare it outdated; machine gets bored. Men abandon it thinking they and they alone can make it function, forgeting they also programmed it to think and given it knowledge to equal the universe machine is going to get even, right? :-) I love a good mystery!
