A re-write, one of the lost recovered.

Moon Dancing

Once…

‘Neath a star washed ocean in

ring stone round we’d dance. Skyclad,

hand in hand round a bonfire of blessed aromas

amongst moonbeam and meadow sweet,

rhythmically swaying to the drumming beat

with the sky beneath our feet.

In groves of Oak with mistletoe we’d invoke

spirits of the past and otherworldly folk

spinning like jenny’s in our widdershins jig

moon-dancing with posy branch and twig.

With our environment in ecstasy complete

with the sky beneath our feet.

The wayward children of Mother Earth

used to listen to night when it spoke

in shadow tongue but as times wheel turned

her song was no longer heard

bonfires no longer burned

our declaration of indifference well earned

and Gods we no longer greet

with the sky beneath our feet.

Hmmm, skyclad, huh? LOL!

Great visuals of a sacred glade, the mightly oak and revered mistletoe. I loved this one. ;) Silver

Wise, wonderful composition... "Moon Dancing" strikes minds and stimulates the heart to pump wisdom.

This poem pays its dues to Poetry's treasure, and adds value to The Major Art.

Thank You, Poet for showing the world what poetic tasks mean.

The mo0n inspires many a poem, but
this one is special.
No can listen, it's, rush, rush, rush..
money, money, money, spend, spend, spend.
When will it end?

the venerated magic of ancient times has been replaced by the technological god of indifference, though the enchantment of moon dancing still remains within the hearts of those who seek the truth ..

MOON DANCING places one's mind, heart, and spirit in the center of a magical time and place. Easy to hear the music and join in the flow of the dance.

An enchanting pagan write like none of its kind, Paul! Widdershins jig, counter-clockwise dance, skyclad, naked around a bonfire, balefire like in handfasting, jumping over the broom under the moon with the Green Man in the oak groves, the witch's wheel, the 8 Sabbats in which we celebrate Mother Earth. 'Blessed Be an' it harm none, do what ye shall.'

I love this... I love these, cos this reminds me of the first writes I remember reading of yours early last year, I reckon... cos they made me think Stonehenge and all that. Indulging spiritual ritual always gives the sensation of having "the sky beneath our feet", no?? Takes me back to me farmin roots and all the old Hardy-esque rituals of blessin that country folks go in for so much. Makes me feel very "at one". Bless you, Kate xx

Mystically wonderful, Paul; I think we ought to go back to that time when we listened to the night. Thank you for sharing this gift, my friend. Love and peace to you,

Aye, we've lost our connection, haven't we? The wheel will turn back 'round again I hope. Beautiful, pensive write, Paul. Like an old wise one speaking of former times. Saved...
