Without a Good Bye

You departed stealthily,
without a word,
without a smile,
without a simple good-bye.

Where is your care of yesterday,
Where is your moonsong of yesternight,
Where is your hug of love.

I long for that smile,
that danced on your succulent lips,
I long for that laughter,
that removes my pains.

You departed without
the courtesy of a good-bye.

I will stand at the gate,
to welcome your prodigal return.

It is a sad piece but in the end when you say that you will stand at the gate and await your prodigal return made it very much a love poem.
