These birds chirp frenetically--
I don't have to worry about forgetting
These leaves I have…
And billions of other leaves, equally varied
I can trace the outline of each one
I can wander the labyrinth
A sunset creates itself every evening--
I will anticipate the next one, even if I miss yesterday's
I have mangoes
And bananas and apples
And sweet potatoes and…
Maybe you didn't know I also have olive oil and vinegar and brown rice
And I have blue cheese…
