The Ocean is Lonely in Winter

Hold on to the tides


As they ebb and flow


Washing away the scars


From storms and erosion


          Of your soul


The ocean is lonely in winter


And you hold onto that


As tight as you can


Your companions in the dark months


Are the deepest seas and


Most treacherous ocean


And, as long as you have that,


You’ll hold together


You can’t fall apart.
