A child's hand Skeletal Grasping, clawing, clutching Her eyes clouded From starvation She sits alone in the muddy dark Her mother somewhere near Attracting flies Her light's gone out And so the child lives In darkness She'll soon die Her body will turn to dust To feed the earth On which other starving children will lie
