Hurricane Charley was my first hurricane expierence. He came with fury, and left total destruction in our community.

Trash piled high
Waiting at curbside
No pick up due
Impatience is standard

Potholes in roads
Twisted sharp metal
Jagged broken trees
Blue roof tarps

Life style changed
Furure remains uncertain
Home are unliveable
Normal is nonexistant

Survival a gift
Accepted as fate
Losses are mourned
The spirit endures

I've never experienced such a violent side of nature and I hope I never do. I like the way you end on a positive note... enduring spirit of survival. Thank you, MaryGrace. Love and peace,

Regis

Charley was headed for Tampa Bay (my home)before turning into Southwest Florida. I can tell you we walked around here with 'survivor's guilt' for months afterwards, knowing that he was our storm and in sparing us, others were hurt or lost. Bless all of you who have had to suffer in our stead. Michelle

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
