Dass me, a Southern Yankee. I miss my Ohio roots, too..............especially during tornado season, where they had BASEMENTS up North!! But I don't miss the cold so much anymore........BRR, my blood's thinned out since moving to Texas 24 years ago. :) A beautiful, poignant write, well done!
Being a northern Yankee my entire life, I don't know if I could ever leave the evergreens, the maples, or the birches behind. But these winters are quite trying - and more so as I age!
