For my country I do the
things I do. The path I choose
may not be right.
Some days the sky is blue,
other times its raining day and
night.
Like a good soldier, I march
toward death, stumbling through
trenches half blind.
I'll fight on till my last breath,
hoping one day peace will be found.
Sometimes the battle rages right
at home, other times in far off
places.
No matter where I go, the
fighting has different faces.
If death should come, I will
welcome its cool embrace.
My dutys done to God and country.
My life was not a waste !

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
Most valiant soldiers march on no matter what, and we should all respect their many sacrifices.
Very nice poem. The rhyme and flow is excellent.
