Fighting for freedom and
sometimes a belief, a man
is sent off to war.
A single shot, and soon a
nation is drawn into the universe
of death.
Bodies disfigured, roasted in
flames. Widowed wives, children.
No one left to know their names.
No peace will this world see.
Satan smiles at what he does best.
A soldier comes home, no arms,
or legs, but a medal upon
his chest.

This last stanza is so true GEORGE.......No Peace will the world see.
For the corrupt one is at hand and running scared he knows the days are numbered and he also has read the end of Revelation the part where we win he loses. Thank you MARYGRACE for sharing this one of Georges....

Beautiful, my heart cries and mourns our terrible losts.
When will it ever end, prayers sent.

Wow! What a harsh look at the reality of war, penned very well. Few words but so much said, so much to think about, very thought provoking indeed! Outstanding write!

I often sadly believe that now, since mankind truly seems to be pre-occupied with warfare, and has, it seems, since we first walked upon this earth.
