George just sent this poem to me of lost love and I wanted to share it with you. GREAT NEWS! He preached his first sermon in the prison chapel last week and said it was well received. I am so proud of him. He's become an adopted son to me. I treasure his letters and poems.
Staring at a distance
Time stood still
Through the bars of steel
Her beauty is sealed
He closed his eyes,
Reopened them, saw the same
The memories of the past
Remain unchanged
Down her cheeks
Her pain flowed in streams
An endless tragedy
Sometimes it seems
Through the misty fog
She reaches out his way
Darkness closes in
She softly fades away
