George wrote this poem quite a few years ago when he was in prison. He is now in a work camp and is studying to becoma a minister. He's also writing for a prison news letter.
I think of this place
every now and then
Here I have no family
and very few friends
This is a place the
judge sentenced me
to wait ten years
to be free again
He said I was a menace
to our society,
yet I know in the free
world, people worse than me
I guess everyone pays
a price one day,
because we all reap
what we sew
Will I be a better man
only time will tell
Will I someday be an angel,
or end up in hell
I guess it all depends
on the decisions that I make
Life can be a ball and chain
or a piece of cake
From here on out
only God can judge me,
help determine what i'll be
Some day with his help'
I will be set free

We all make mistakes and we all pay for what we do. I believe if we are truly sorry then yes we can change. It unfortunate that people judge us for our wrong doings and often they never let us forget them yet little praise when we try from our heart to right the wrong we have done. Sounds as if he really is serious about going to God and making right and doing things and turning himself around. May it be so. I will pray for him to do that and for God to forgive him and take him into his loving hands. I hope that God has not ever left him though, that is the feeling I get as to how it is.
