Sometimes life is very hard . A person can become worn down by the raveges of daily events. It can be overpowering!
My husbands health is still not stable and he's really is giving me a hard time about his medications, ect. I fear his dementia is getting worse and he's depressed about his condition.
I'm treading water ,
trying to stay afloat
as I'm engulfed by tides
of dispair which come and go
Some of my days are filled
with indecision and turmoil,
when I try to overcome the
obstacles confronting me
I feel alone in this life battle
At times the sea of problems
overpower and drag me under
I fight to survive the currents,
seeking comfort from my Lords
guiding hands
His love sustains me
as I awake to greet another day
and try again
THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS...IT'S THE LORDS!! PLEASE TRY AND REMEMBER THIS MARYGRACE. AND I KNOW MANY TIMES THAT THIS IS MUCH EASIER SAID THAN DONE...BUT YOU HAVE FAITH IN GOD AND YOU MUST KNOW THAT...IT HAS BEEN HIS STRENGTH ALL ALONG THAT HAS TAKEN YOU THROUGH AND HE WILL NOT LEAVE YOU NOW. YOU ARE NOT WALKING ALONE...YOU ARE NOT TREADING WATER ALONE. AND DID YOU SAY YOU HAD WHAT??!! GOD IS CERTAINLY SHOWING YOU SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR ALZHEIMERS DIAGNOSIS MARYGRACE...GOD IS ABLE TO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE. I AM STRENGTHENED BY WHAT I SEE HIM DOING IN YOUR LIFE. PLEASE HOLD TIGHT TO GOD'S UNCHANGING HAND...HE WILL NOT LET YOU GO. THANKS FOR SHARING AND MAY GOD GIVE YOU EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED IN THIS SITUATION. BLESSINGS.

MaryGrace, your poem is really stated in a way that your pain is obvious. I emphathize with you because I was a caretaker for both my aging parents when they became ill. It was the most stressful job I had ever had because worry and frustration that I couldn't make things better was sometimes overpowering. It seems there's never a break in there anywhere, and you just have to keep on keeping on. But what you have to do is live in the minute, keep your mind from wandering to your fears. Keep God by your side and know that what you are doing for your husband will one day bring you peace of mind. May God bless you and give you peaceful rest.
Do you have family or friends living near you who can help?Is there a healthworker who might be able to give you a little respite? I am so sorry thing are so hard for you right now. You and your husband are in my prayers.
