I have recently had some health problems. TIA stands for Trans Ischemic Attack. I have had a couple in the last few weeks.
I was laying in bed watching TV with my husband. I started feeling tired, then confused. I felt like I was going into a tunnel. Everything was blurry.I was paralized, I couldn't move nor talk! I tried desperately to let him know something was wrong. He heard me making little noises and turned and looked at me, then shook me a few times, asking "what's wrong what's wrong". I could see him, but he looked blurred, far away. He shook me more and checked my pulse. It was faint and irregular. My vision finally started clearing, I could focus better and gradually could move again. Then it was gone! He said it lasted about ten minutes.
It was a terrorfying expierence and the second time this has happened.
I called my cardiologist and saw him the next day. He ordered a Cat Scan of the Brain and and Ultra Sound of my Carotid Arteries.. He also told me to start taking an aspirin daily. He felt I had a TIA( mini stroke). Test results are pending.
Some symptoms of A TIA
1) Blurred vision
2) Difficulity speaking
3) Confusion
4) Numbness or weakness
Call your Doctor at once if these occur
or go to the ER.
A brief Disruption of the blood supply to the brain may cause these symptoms.

MARYGRACE...I AM GLAD THAT YOU HAD SOMEONE WITH YOU AND GLAD THAT YOU WERE DIAGNOSED QUICKLY AND KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. I CAN ONLY GIVE GOD THE PRAISE THAT IT WAS A TIA AND NOT A SEVER MALFUNCTION. YOU HAVE BEEN QUITE STRESSED LATELY AND GOING AT A FAST PACE WITH TAKING CARE OF AND PRAYING FOR YOUR HUSBAND...GOD HEARD THOSE PRAYERS, NOW YOU NEED TO CONCENTRATE MORE ON YOURSELF AND PRAY FOR YOURSELF AS WELL. THIS WAS NOT GOOD NEWS TO HEAR BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT IS NOT THE WORSE NEWS...FOR IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH WORSE. I AM PRAYING FOR YOU ALWAYS AND PLEASE, NOW MORE THAN EVER, HAVE FAITH AND REMEMBER ALL THE TIMES WHEN GOD HAS BEEN FAITHFUL TO OTHERS AND TO YOU THROUGH 'PRAYER'. PRAY WITHOUT CEASING, WHICH MEANS ANYTIME YOU THINK OF IT THROUGHOUT THE DAY, WHISPER A LITTLE PRAYER...STAY IN COMMUNICATION WITH GOD WHO LOVES YOU AND IS WATCHING OVER YOU. So sorry to hear that, MG. As you've probably read, I've been going through a similar thing myself. The doctors suspect multiple TIAs. Life seems unfair at times but with our faith in God we can cope. Thanks for sharing this info with everyone and God bless.
Yes, MaryGrace, it sounds like a mild stroke...I experienced similar symptoms five years ago and for an hour lost power in all four limbs; it is terrifying but we go on, don't we?
