I have not written many poems since my husband died. He inspired me in many different ways and my life is not the same with out him by my side. Somehow I have survived and gone forward despite obstacles that have occurred. He has been gone three years. Life goes on, as do I.
Three years ago you left me.
Three years ago you died.
Three years ago my heart was broken.
I shed wild tears I could not hide.
Your passing broke my heart.
Things are not the same.
Some how I had to restart,
a brand new life again.
A part of me went with you,
when you left life's earthly shore.
I know you are in Heaven,
forever and ever more.
Some times I feel you are with me,
for your love touches my heart.
Though we are not really together,
We will never be entirely apart.
Someday in the near future,
I'll come to be with you.
We'll spend eternity together,
for our love remains forever true .
When two men hit the reset button and decide to go out looking for the good in the world, they not only find it but also a lot more.
