Status quo, He challenged

Whited Pharisees, He rebuked

Turbulent seas, He calmed

Adulterous women, He forgave


Disbelieving disciples, He nurtured faith

Condescending Pharisees, He refuted pride

Faith-laden children, He suffered them to come

Ever-needful family, He chose the Father’s business


To the sick of the palsy, He said “Rise up”

To the collector of tax, He said, “Come Down”

To the fisher of fish, He said, “Launch out”

To the unsaved that knocked as his door, He said, “Come in”


Jesus Christ came to deliver, Others chose to reject,

Jesus Christ came to restore, People chose to destroy

Jesus Christ came to redeem, Humanity chose to forfeit

Jesus Christ came to bring hope, Lost mankind chose to despair.


Jesus Christ, fearless facing death,

Mankind, fearful facing life,

Jesus Christ, nonconforming to man’s ways,

Humankind, forever bent on their say.


Jesus Christ, the Intrepid Iconoclast

Jesus Christ, without trepidation

Jesus Christ, Savior and Lord!
