An oldie by request...

I was drinking again, hanging out
In the local tavern of losers
Newly divorced, no man friend
Sucking a bottle for comfort

The jukebox was making
The familiar whine in tempo
To the rest of the patrons
This time I mind the anesthesia

And the beer nuts I can’t stand
The nostalgia-induced coma
Coming on. I need some rock
Some earsplitting roll
Feedback-distortion

Slap me awake; it’s a long drive
Home. I dig in my jeans
Pull a pill and a quarter
Swallow the quarter
Head for the music machine
And drop the pill in the slot

I like this one. I've seen the ugly days. I've pretty much left the bars, but I still want to hear the rock music.

Jan, I like this one.
Represents the old in you,
time to concentrate on the NEW
side of you! This coming Tuesday or Wednesday (14th)
I find out if I have breast cancer. You have been on
my mind.

Jan, a real honest look inside, but I wonder can we ever be truley honest with looks into our own souls! Sandi

I really love this poem. It was new to me, and I think it is a truly fine and terrific and original creation.

I have always liked this one, lover. Its just so you.... (did you get the quarter back BTW? Or were you not that hard up at the time?)
Glad you liked the musical poem Alien In My Bed - that backing track is cute. But my next "weird music" jaunt across the cosmos of verse, Time Treavellers, which I am saving, is the one where I am accompanied into space by a certain Texan blonde. I'll post that after we have done your music for Deja Vu Man etc.
You know sweets, we are at the bleeding edge of new media poetry here.
love
Ian
