I am a part of all

A leaf, blows in the wind

It stops to listen

Then it sails away

Never knowing, just where it will end.

A rock, it skips across a lake

It is running

From something

How much more can it take?

The rock, can it remember?

Probably so I'm sure it would like to develop amnesia

Just to let it all go.

The leaf, I'm not so sure

It's still flying somewhere

Maybe happy, maybe sad

Or just maybe it does not care.

The leaf, it was so tossed

Like a tempest

So violent and tumultuous

Is now forever lost.

The rock, it hides

At the bottom of the lake

The joy of skipping is gone

The rock begins to quake.

Little by little It erodes away

Until it no longer resembles the rock

Maybe, a lump of clay?

I have lived the life

Of the leaf and Of the rock.

Now I am only the clay

Toss me on the potter's wheel

Maybe I can be better, Is that how you feel?

I'D ALWAYS CHOOSE TO BE THE 'CLAY'...THEN 'HE' CAN MOLD ME INTO WHATEVER 'HE' WANTS ME TO BE. THIS IS VERY GOOD WORK WITH GREAT METAPHORS. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS.

An absolutely superb write, Janet. It is so reminiscent to our relationship in nature and I can relate.

Tossing you on a potters wheel, wetting my hands and running them over your body is a very appealing notion. Stop putting ideas in my head.
Good strong images on this one sweets - but does a rock remember? Well yes, it does. Kinda complicated how though.

Janet,

Welcome home: I've missed you.

Deeply penned, meaningful write, one that teaches. I believe, honestly, that people who are miserable know no other way. May be wrong. But: have a girlfriend like this: down all the time, has nothing good to say, everything is everyone else's fault. Not a way I want to live. An excellent pen.

You are in my prayers.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

I am sure you and I were on the same plane with, "I Chose This" and the one I wrote, just the day before you, "Leaf Your Rock."

I love when this happens...:)
I must say, you expressed your poem exactly how I felt, just a different journey!
Enjoyed!
Love and Peace~
