Daddy is not coming back...

Somebody left her, she
screamed and she cried.
Saw beautiful colours, in
her damaged minds eye.

She thought he would save
her, there's no way he could.
He was scarred more than her,
like floating driftwood.

He washed ashore, found
her, infinitely disturbed.
Salty tears, strained through him
there were no healing herbs.

Clawing, and severing
the thing that she loved.
She's alone in a room now,
with hands in forced gloves.

Powerful write. So very sad but touching upon emotion in a way that only a good writer can write.

A very intense write. I can feel the helplessness, and the pains.
Thank you for sharing this!

A sad time when asylums were in our midst and all inside peered out the windows being separated from freedom by glass and sometimes bars. You draw out the emotions well..

Be always safe,
Karen

Chilling and sad, those of us who can remember back to the old days when asylums weren't much more than prisons with padding can feel this write all too well. Neither age nor gender mattered if you were committed to one of those places.

Feelings of intensity
As with daughter and Dad
No matter how evil
No matter how bad
The vital life no one can steal
Despite their love and what they feel.

OH my! This surrounded my heart with goose bumps. I'd like to think that it eventually ends with Love reaching in to soothe both daughter and dad.
