Jealousy

Be proud of your work. Always try your best. And remember, those who attack their competition fear their competition.

Jealousy is enraged
In the hearts of those
Who cannot achieve
The greatness of others.

Jealousy is enraged
In the minds of those
Who believe they are
Superior to others.

Jealousy is enraged
In the souls of those
Who do everything to help
But wish to do nothing but hinder.

Jealousy is enraged
In the hearts of those
Who are big men
On very little campuses

Jealousy is enraged
In the minds of those
Who are outranked
By those of lesser experience

Jealousy is enraged
In the souls of those
Whose hearts have been blackened
By years of fruitless labor

Jealousy is enraged
In the hearts of those
Who cannot achieve
The greatness of others.

Well written. Always stay true to yourself no matter what anyone else says, otherwise poetry turns into empty shells.

You are so right on. I have a sister who attacks me every chance she gets and your poem expresses well just why she does it. She has no talent, no integrity, and seethes her jealous rage. She can't help it tho because she is small, and as you indicate, the small just can't resist the urge to attempt to topple the strong.

I can relate to your poem, I believe I was visited by the Jealousy raider...Insecurity is the underlying basis for jealousy..This poem tells it like it is, thank you for sharing..

The line "Jealousy is enraged In the hearts of those Who are big men On very little campuses"" really hit home with me...makes me think of others I have met in a den.
