We tend to take drastic resolutions when spitually upset; when disappointed by a lover or betrayed by a friend we will burn our ships.

Eating away the long distances,
timeless years of solitary escape,
with shoes scraping so many paths
and no proof of ever had been there.

Once, now in the memory's archives,
I found miself wondering with rage,
if I just could turn around and leave
or write about revenge another page.

On the beach, the ships are burning
after everything was done and said,
is time to forget the uttered words
because nobody can un-ring that bell.

Behind those far away horizons
you will find the mother of all regrets,
be the one that nobody can see
wrapped in smoke from the burning sails.

Cross the dragon's river, cross the Rubicon,
your feet are free after we broke the chains,
hear the mute's choir howling "vengeance!!!"
and see the anger become a snake.

By the beach the remaining ashes,
a memento, the ruins that were left
with a rancid perfume of past grievances
and the name of the days we can't forget.

To tomorrow's mysterious promises
the walk begun from the deepest well,
going to freedom will be no easy from
the one guilt has chosen for its slave.
