I found, like a bunch of playful smiling children, that innocence was not hiding in my garden...
White flowers, in my garden, with long stems,
majestic, like aristocratic Tchaikovsky's swans,
long necked, watchful, without seemingly looking at
the pompous roses that were budding around.
There, a few calla flowers bunched together
like a throng of gossiping fishmonger's wives
trying to imitate the color of innocence
but in my garden, they are not as white.
A solitary cactus, a six-footer sentinel armed
with long thorns, soldiers bayonets like,
guards my small Eden, a gray scarecrow
discouraging invasion of the vandals.
And here, being cuddled by so many leaves
starting to blush a first strawberry, wild,
promising nectar to future visiting busy bees
that can stop there, after flying all the time.
A green sea of a garden with rainbow waves,
where my majestic "swans" wear invisible crowns,
but like angels, seems no to touch the muddy puddle
as they keep the color of innocence so much alive!
Just love the picture of the swans!! Did you know they started out as ugly ducklings, depicted by Hans Christian Anderson? "The Color of Innocense" is beauty in the making and enjoyed the reading.
In my estimation - your best write yet Georg. Beautiful imagery and subject matter - an outstanding analogy. Embraces the senses with wisdom and color. Blessings to you ...
A swaned naivity in white with all its purity and plain...could be set upon comparisons, always, comes up white just the same...
Excellent write Georg~

I sense a deep melancholy in this poem, George, however, the writing is good (as always) and your imagery is wonderful. I do enjoy reading your work, my friend.

Georg,
One of your best, my friend. A garden can hold hidden treasures and lighten the heart with its beauty. Awesome poetry and one that goes in my library.
A truly wonderful poem and ode to your wondrous garden's innocence, Georg. May it bring you much joy for a very long time. Gardens can truly provide needed sanctuary from a mad, mad, mad world.
Written with ink from a seraphic well "The Color of Innocence" brings a rich symbolism and surreal magic of the dance of words in the universe of the soul.
The Harvest of Souls Crossover is a story that is exciting, vigorous, and full of suspense about the fight of good and evil in two realms, the light and dark world. The Howdy Family is determined to defeat the world of darkness, led by the seemingly
