In my bio I said that my life could have been painted by Salvador Dalí...then, I got an e-mail about the same way of thoughts from another author whose life seemed as distorted as if Dalí had arranged it.
It was for me a lesson of humility, because while licking my wounds I saw that somebody else had greater ones.
This is dedicated to Cedric III
Distorted images of that first day
wonder of wonders, we were born,
and parents should have rejoiced
we were the seed, we were the hope.
Not a green forest, a yellow desert
with spread around melting clocks,
hanging from branches of dead trees
or saddles made of time on a rock.
I said that my life could be painted
by the twisted humor of Don Salvador,
thinking with that human arrogance that,
such pain is only you that understood.
Of all places, in the old museum of Praha
came looking another same suffering soul,
after looking at ones of Dalí’s angel sketch
Cedric’s life he could have been painted too.
That was a lesson on humility when one
take greater than they are the own sorrows,
and here comes a bird with broken wings,
to remain you, that you can fly tomorrow.
oh my...
i have no idea what to say.
i never meant for you to think your life was nothing compared to mine in sending you that piece i sent... just that id thought along the same lines as you is all.
i completely adore your piece here georg.
there is something about the melted clocks that dali played with in his paintings that makes me love him.
to me he is trying to show that time is not the healer its made out to be... that it isnt anything we make it be... that it too has a breaking point...
yes...
this is a most wonderfully compassionate 'put yourself in the shoes of another' write.
thank you for your great kindness =)
As Eileen says Georg ... you do exhibit a rare humility and compassion towards others; I am convinced that it is your most profound virtue. Enjoyed this write ... however, am I the only one who believes that Cedric III is a woman?
Blessings to you fine gentleman and poet ...

How beautiful is your compassion and humility Georg! Sometimes we can't always share our life's sorrows,so we can't always know what another has lived through...Splendid poem!
Very well written dedication for Cedric, I always think no matter how bad things seem to me for me , someone else is having it worst. Thank you for sharing Georg.

Dali's prespective holds countless lessons for one and all...
Humility is one of today's forgotten Graces, I fear.
Another wonderful write, Georg.
Peace be with you,
Carolyn
A stunning tribute to Cedric III..
I truly agree with your words
We always think our life is not that good
But we should always remember theirs others with
who have experience great sorrows or may still
Be experiencing that makes our life seemed like nothing
George you've reminded me with this poem
To thank God and Pray for Cedric III
Love Peace and Hugsss to you always..Yolie
A creative write my friend, well done indeed! I agree with Ed, we all do have our own secrets, dark closets, and demons that haunt and torment us...many just keep them hidden within, but often it does help to allow them to surface...great write!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
I think we all have our own unique demons and sorrows, and humility and compassion are both wonderful attibutes.

I have seen green forests but am at home with the empty branches of winter.
An excellent dedication to your friend and others silent yet.

Kathy
I love the way you paint with words, inspire, and humbly acknowledge your humanness. Well done.
