Cursed be...

The strident awakening bells have been shaken by the reason's hand, are we deaf or just stubbernly don't want to hear them?
As the dark soldiers are multiplying around us we only prepare ourselves with a shoulder's shrug...
What He would say about that?

Poem Artwork

Cursed be…
the destroyers of innocent little lives,
the ones that were in need of love
and our indifference made orphans,
abhorrent abortion of feelings we got.

Cursed be…
the merchants taking over our churches
like thirty pieces of silver wasn’t enough,
sons and daughters we sent to battle
to fetch their own Last Rite sacred oil.

Cursed be…
the spoilers of all the drinking water wells,
the sewer spillers onto the river’s world,
and those that profit sells corrupted food
to the desperate needy and hungry folk.

Cursed be…
the ones using so much available steel
making weapons instead of mighty ploughs,
the wises ones were ridiculed for have said,
“you should be making love, not war”

Cursed be…
the ones that wounded my brother’s heart
when he was coming in peace back home,
after been call to fight in good faith for
what was all a lie, now, no legs and no hope.

Cursed be…
those that soiled the good name of our land,
the makers of displaced people without a home;
the red stripes of the Old Glory we should make
into the cells bars of their, cursed for life, prison.

...perhaps the loudness of everything...has created a convenient loss of hearing for many. Your volume is audible Georg...and I am listening.

Georg, one more should be added, saying,

"Cursed be...
those that have sold out middle-class America.
You sent our jobs, our future, our hopes
to a cheaper roadside stand."

Great write,
Dan

Are we deaf, or just don't want to hear?

A very profound question, brother, and I think we are probably a little of both. I think we now sadly live in a 'Me' society. If it doesn't personally affect 'Me,' I'm probably both deaf to it, and I really don't care to hear about it anyway. And that, is very sad.

"For eveything there is a season" and one day Old Glory's name shall be exchanged for "In God We Trust". Your words give our land hope.
