Life, a twisted labyrinth to some, a stright line to heavens to a few, but we all will be dying of curiosity at what there is at the end of the line...
Although, we will never cease to wonder.
Aimlessly wanderings in a world without,
fingers searching for direction so the eyes
could se to where is to take the first steps
on a journey that will be a million miles.
Indefatigable feet ever refusing to stop,
the frozen landscapes and smoldering ones,
mirages with a distorted truth in agonies
and mirrors that in your face will tell a lie.
You left the past behind you getting longer,
and shorter, a future’s end coming near, like,
when the sand in the hour-glass runs over
and there isn’t more a expected in, but an out.
You bend over to pick up a flower but don’t,
you are at the end…don’t destroy another life,
left it for a honey bee or for an old painter
that could put on his canvas that little smile.
Indefatigable wanderings towards nowhere…
no end of the tunnel, or a dramatic end or light,
but crumbling into yesterday’s whiter memories,
and still, all mirrors will tell on your face, a lie.
You are casting a long shadow in time my friend, you have also grown larger to contain that repository of treasures you have picked up along the way, yes that cherry blossom is best painted now, with the insights you have garnered; it will make a beautiful memory, without bringing sadness of your passing, with the ligh shining from the other side, and no more mirrors with fairytales you will see then.
Bless you! Jasmin Horst
I guess I believe that life just continues as we leave this home for the next and the beautycontinues to blossom. A great write Georg, thank you for sharing.
A powerful and intense write. Someone once said "the goal is the journey, if we can keep our minds in the moment, instead of fear and anticipation of yesterday and tomorrow, there is peace." Maybe that's part of the task, to appreciate the picture before us instead of always trying to look at the next one. Someone else said " Life is what happens when you're not looking".
Thanks for this interesting piece!
A life that is long is supposed to be the Creator's reward but I hope I go on to the next before this one becomes a burden and little moments of joy fade into oblivion. Thought provoking write Georg and penned with excellance.

Well said, Georg, as always. A long life has been punctuated with little bright jeweled moments, little idealistic victories which seemed big at the time, splashes of being sometimes heros and other-times victims, and out at this end of life we hold in our hands an accumulated mosaic where most of the tiles have grayed like our hair, and the answers we once knew are lost in ?????? ...
