If, how many times we asked ourselves if, and with regret we look back at many wrong choises, a wrong turns at easy crossroads, going down when we should have been climbing...yes...if we only...

Poem Artwork

I don’t know what he saw,
the man looking back at me
from the other side of the mirror,
he had that questioning look,
like asking me, “why?”
as if I were some kind of fool
to let her, my dream of dreams,
open that good-bye door
and no reach through distances
holding her forever, no letting go.

But that man, at the other side
over my shoulder took a look,
not convinced that this old man
was really here and all alone,
saddened eyes he had for me
but also a disdain inside them I saw,
a fatalistic shrug of his shoulder
and he went away with one last nod,
leaving me with a most frozen
empty mirror in an empty room.

Georg,
This write shows others their true blessings & makes us think...
I feel very very blessed to not know this particular type of regret, I have regrets but none so heavy as the words of the heartbreaking feeling I can only imagine is very devastating

Georg - We all have to look at that stark reflection in the mirror. A friend of mine says that he's always surprised to see that old man that looks back at him. - David

Excellant work here Georg, yes all too often we are forced to look into that mirror of deception and try and wonder why a fool looks back at us.

The best way to get through is to keep trudging forward. Sometimes to look back does no good when the outcome cannot ever be changed. Wise, passionate words you penn here....

Be always safe,

Empty heart, do you have? I don't, I have Jesus in my life and follow his directions. I know he is leading me down the right path to his glory. An empty room has me in it, and I can live alone and try to be happy, but will I? That is a good question at this tim of my life too. This is a good look into yourself.

It seems to me that the closing lines of the first stanza need to be revised. (LINES 9 and 10.)

I have enjoyed the reading of "Empty Mirror, Empty Room". The closing lines of the composition were written with diamond letters.

I salute You, Poet.

In admiration,

Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU

Wrong turns at life's many crossroads - I often wonder how many times every one of us makes one of those, brother.

You my friend have a deep suffering wound that just won't heal, try forgiving your sins, you weren't meant to be perfect, otherwise God would get awful jealous wouldn't he, but she must have been beautiful just the same, one has to go through it to feel that deep.
God heal you wounds, Blessings friend! Jasmin Horst
