You, at the wrong moment turned your face away searching for her as she went by, and when you turned your head back you didn't see her, she was already swallowed by the fog of time.

Poem Artwork

You did pass by when I wasn’t looking,
I was then searching for you my love,
the eyes of my soul would had instantly
knew, the search had meet its final stop,
my heart would have skip a beat feeling
near, the most beautiful girl in the world.

But I was then looking the wrong way,
kept going like a fool which don’t know
that there was your feminine perfume,
its invisible essence wrapping me around
like a spider’s net does with the butterfly
but then pretty girl, didn’t trust my nose.

Wished to hear your voice, in my head
I had heard it so many times with laugh,
like a small bird singing after the rain
to a rainbow, its fingers in a pot of gold,
and like a cascade of pure mountain water
whispering my name, it was your voice.

My heart told me that your sparkling eyes
a face with happiness illuminate would,
and when my eyes those stars admired,
mesmerized I will be, a man that’s lost
in a labyrinthine maze of much desires
for the most beautiful girl in the world.

I can relate, Georg. And you know, more than once I have actually met face to face with the "most beautiful girl in the world" yet sadly, in time, she went away, one way or another to vanish into the fog of time. It is true that there are many other "most beautiful girls in the world." It's all in the moment I suppose. Thank you, friend. Love and peace,

Regis

Oh my Georg, you've expressed so beautifully what happens to most people, but only once. You see someone, your eyes meet, and you go on never realizing until later that it was your soul mate you saw. Once seen, never forgotten.
Bravo my friend,
Marcia

A most beautiful poem -- moving, sensual and tender -- containing such great phrases: "...like a small bird singing after the rain
to a rainbow" amd "...like a cascade of pure mountain water
whispering my name" and many others! Exceptionally well done, Georg!

In the furthest memory in my mind, the one I loved more, at least in my mind, than any other was lost to me fifty-seven years ago, and a day has not gone by that I haven't thought of her and wondered of her and knew if we passed in the street or stood one before the other in line waiting to have our groceries checked, she would not know me nor would I know her. Your beautifully haunting poem, Georg, brought this thought to mind. Your friend, Mark

Georg,
It is never too late. Wrap your arms around her and make her yours!
This poem brought me to a bridge maybe in London, on a dark and lonely night, and I was searching for something, not quite sure what, and distracted by an accident and wandered off, before you could find me. (The female part of this poem)....
I shall finish it, check my page for the female part of this poem.
Peace, love, and light,
You inspire me!

Yes, I think this has happened to all of us, to have the perfect woman or man for us be right in front of us and we do not discover it until it is too late.
