How many times in our life we have seen some precious wasted? How many times we didn't answer the knock in the door fearing the worst but it was the best call we could have dreamed?
Sometimes we put all our efforts in a simple drop...and where it get us?
A water drop decided to quit
after getting tired of being
pushed, shake and blown by
mighty winds in the middle
of a never ending storm;
from water into ice,
from ice into the diamonds
that made the snow,
and then, again,
melting into tiny pearls
to be part of the fog
making the lights
to fade away
by obscuring the sun.
A water drop, after quitting,
jumped from the cloud
traveling on the shoulder’s wind
without looking down,
freedom!!!…freedom
is waiting down below,
in the thirsty earth
of a thirsty world;
nobody followed
the solitary water drop,
all being so busy
escaping from the storm
that didn’t notice
that its fall
will be not on fertile ground,
but on a rock.
Sweet. Has the drop made a mistake by detaching itself from the cloud? Once the goal is freedom I think every step that takes you to that goal is right, no matter if one lands on a rock instead of a fertile ground as the drop had anticipated.
Dear Georg, What can I tell you, the drop made a mistake by wanting to separate from its family. By separating it creates a turbulence in the sky, the cloud, the light,the snow and ice and finaly it did not accomplish its purpose by landing on a rock. That's why nature's elements should be careful not to play with new ideas but to follow the flow and its laws. Great poem, thank you for sharing. Love Emile
Your words are inspirational and motivational. I feel that water is a very amazing element. It cleanses, refreshes, rejuvenates and sustains us in our daily life. I never take it for granted and never will. I moved to the condo I am in right now because as I type I can see my brook flowing like a river today. It soothes my soul and makes me happy.
