I turned around and you was gone

suddenly the world is empty with desolated streets and a gray color everywhere, not curious faces by the upper windows or a pigeon on roof edge, no cranky old school bus going by, no wind...
Then you ask your self, "where is all gone?"

Poem Artwork

Where goes the traveler
after going around the world
searching a something forever,
an El Dorado never found?

Where goes the pigeon
when its wings become too old
to fly into postcard landscapes
without the image of winter’s cold?

Where goes the flower
when their life becomes all brown,
and fading perfumes walked the winds
with a sense of beauty that got lost?

Where goes the rain
that passed by and didn’t gave a drop,
hiding like round white beads
inside a mother pearl cloud?

Where goes the time
that just went and didn’t stop,
are going to meet the younger
or will come back to take the old?

Where goes the solitude
when separate ones becomes a two
perhaps enshrouded by a kiss of love
or in a lie that becomes a truth?

Where goes everything?
the answer; in the riddle will you find,
nothing ever came or ever went,
and you can’t lose what you never had.

YOU DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE THINGS, THEY ARE NOT YOURS EXCLUSIVELY BECAUSE THEY BELONG TO THE WORLD BUT YOU OBSERVED THEM AND FELT THEIR PRESENCE...SO FROM TIME TO TIME AND IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.....YOU THINK OF THEM. AND YOU ARE PARTIALLY RIGHT...THEY HAVEN'T GONE ANYWHERE. VERY GOOD THOUGHT PROVOKER. ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSING. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

"You can't lose what you never had..." but the longing here proves otherwise...the emotions you portrayed so intense. Excellent piece of work.

Alternate ending:
Where goes everything when dawn becomes dusk?
Illuminated truth in my riddles you will find,
That you cannot lose the light you never had,
And darkness lives where the sun never shined.

Loved it all!

The give and take
The here meets the now.

It could all go on and on, or at least I think so!

Take care and enjoy,
Gwendolyn

You know, as I was reading this it reminded me of the Stephen King Movie " The Langoliers" one of my favorites of his. The Langoliers eat time. Big steel balls with razor ed teeth just eat it all. The ground, the air, taste, wind, time. An airplane of people are caught between the real and the past where the Langoliers are eating the past right out from under there feet. This poem could have been the prologue to that movie, VERY well done!

A write threaded together with philosophical melancholy Edvard. You are a man that enjoys traveling in the mind to places never expressed.
Very touching insight!

My, my! What insight you pen with your poetic words, dear Geoge!
"Where goes everything?"...it goes with "time". The Seasons, the flowers, the harvest, solitude, youth - all living things - are lost to time; something we humans cannot control, except to waste or hasten it...time, my friend.
