Nuts, Bolts and Crazy People

We humans are really a bunch of uncharitable people when it comes to give derogatory names to our peers.
Today, children, we are going to search with demented comments about the insane practice we have to point fingers at those that doesn't agree with our off the wall ideas because they are out of they trolley!
Now, here's the challenge, find how many names are out there to define basket-cases and write it down and see who can the most?

Poem Artwork

Crazy people are called nuts and vice-versa,
but why absquatulate people we call bolt?
because bolts should be with all those nuts
and crazy ones should remain crackpots!

We are a bunch of unmerciful name callers,
if you ask for a pay rise and then be told
“Oh man are you crazy? in times like this?
that’s one of the most demented thoughts!”

By name calling we are unique I will say,
even when we trying to soften the blow,
by calling someone really gaga for a dotty
when we are thinking he’s a big screwball!

And what they will be calling you today?
A loony? A nutcase? A weirdo? Oh my God!
we have no many names for sane people
but really for soft-headed we gonna overboard!

That’s the thing Ladies and Gentlemen of AD
we should left now the bolts and nuts alone,
pack well with the best charity all our weirdos
and kiss a crazy one just for the heck of love.

Geirg you make good points, but I fear we are so used to it, we'll never change, but maybe you can get the youngsters to try better.

"you can pleaes come of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time"...I've learned if I'm bothered by something someone says...there is reason within me to reflect and purge...becasue the world is a mirror of what we are...well that's my looney look at it anyway :) LOL

Let the name callers call names... it gives them an opportunity to use the new vocabulary words they discover online. Nice write.

From time to time, my father's favorite expression was,
"You're a crazy as a loon, boy." Of course, he was right.
Sticks and stones, etcetera. -gene.

so right, names stick, even when said in jest. I believe we are all the three-year old child that we were back then on the inside; the child makes the man; whatever was put upon us back then will still have an effect today, and more negative words on top will compound it, however "mature" we think we are. Words have power and often we are iggorant of the sword that's in our mouths until too late. Pertinent write, thank you, Kate xx

I love your thoughts on this piece
But I especially love the message
Within your verse
I once hear a person behind me in a line at a supermarket
Say to her friend the government is wasting our money on this
Kids they will only grow up to be a bunch of potheads
Or a bunch of knuckleheads it was during school lunch
Some people can be so hurtful and hateful always judging
Me I always tell everyone I am just a little cuckoo
One question where did you get my picture, was it from GOOGLE?
Lol lol that s me before coffee
Wishing you Peace Love and Light….Yolie

I have always been seen as different and proud of it
I take a look at some who are classed as normal
I'll take different and be glad that I'm that way
The Buzzard different?
Do my feathers seem odd or something, maybe it's my beak?
Have a good one Georg

You talkin about me again, Juergen would say, Er hatt einen Vogel,
translated, He's got a bird, meaning He is a wee Cockoo, fits me to a tee, last night a neighbour ask me underhandedly if I slept with the bird, why of course I said, I shower with it also. It seems strange that when someone is just a wee different than the ordinary bloke it's too much to handle for some. I don't mind standing out in some way different, I know it's so much easier to march to the common beat, then following ones own drummer. You have written a supremly wise and deep poem, that surely touches on a human failing.
Bless you my friend! Jasmin Horst

Could a "dolt" take the place of a "bolt" and still be nuts?? How about "short-on-gray-matter"? I've heard of half-wit, but never a quarter-wit.
Agree, words not to be used on existing people (unkind), but sure good for characters in books...and maybe Bros Ed :o)
Food for thought, Georg!

though being called names is superficial, it naturally can be upsetting ... the comments that really hurt are those which engage in innuendo & undertone ...

good reminder, Georg ...

Food for thought, Georg? PErhaps. It seems those who seem to have it all together make the worst offenders. And I like what Rose said about those who are disabled. Many disabled truly have a heart while those who don't seem not to care. Maybe that's why God made 'em to bring the "stronger" ones down to size. :) (Ya think?????) Good writing, Georg, and I love the piccy: that will be me before our performances! LOL *KIDDING!* LOL

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in America, Karen Lynn in Texas. :D

THANKS for the "break a leg" comment; I'm ALREADY on crutches! LOL

....I've heard about that person who is not the sharpest tack on the wall...but maybe not sharp enough to be on the wall...then again that one person is 5 beers short of a 6-pack!

and of course it is a terrible thing to not be the brightest crayon in the crayola box of imagination....I heard clueless has no clue?.......ahhh...this is a fun little challenge I must admit!
When someone throws me lemons...yes I will make that lemonade...but I like to spike mine with vodka (ahhh electric lemonade!) & then throw the scraps back at them :)

thaaaaaat's all now.... cwazy wabbits.....

You hit home with this one Georg. Thoses who are SUPPOSE to be well educated seem to be the worst. Have you ever heard anyone who is disabled in any way ever insult or degrade another human being, nooooo because they have a heart and feel for others. I on the other hand have to be a nut, a little crazy ya even a little looney, WHY because I am a true Newfoundlander who believes in being happy and caring. We love everyone. Thanks for sharing Georg.

There would be no use for bolts, without nuts. And I am proud to say that I've been called Loony, most of my life.

PS: I've also wandered over the Golden Gate Bridge many times, Western Brother, and the Mighty Mac is actually longer than the Golden Gate!
