 I heard some words recited once
They must have been a quote
From someone's literary work
I carefully took note

   "He hesitated not upon the order
           of his going"

I wish I knew the author's name,
I have no way of knowing
Creation of that set of words
To me has clearly shown
The author's from another age,
An age that we"ve outgrown

Today the sentence would be formed
In quite a different way
The sentence might be structured as
"The man- he ran away"
It's true in fact we can't deny a statement has been stated
But as to charm or melody it would be poorly rated

Sometimes we hear a story told in what is termed as "rap"
Between the author's style and rap there is a mighty gap
But even God would find it hard to make a better showing
Of  "He hesitated not upon the order of his going"
