Wistful wishes pass green eyes
Like smoke from burnt ideas
Twinkled stars gleam on high
To dream on if you wish to try
To dream, oh yes to maybe hope
Of fragrance in life’s living
To climb those slippery slopes
When time and life is not forgiving
Love’s a realm beyond mans vision
Hidden in clouds of hopeless thoughts
Revealed to few within this prison
Its taste of which mankind has sought
Tender buds of passion seldom form
Into full blown flowered love
And frosts of life’s winds and storms
Nip efforts for which a man has strove
Oh try again and still once more
And balance costs of failures scores
Keep knocking on those closing doors
For maybe someday love will soar
