A companion poem to "Walls"

Between the two of us there is
A wall built brick by brick that is
Preventing full disclosure of
The one inside I say I love

I am anxious, awaiting what I’ll see
When you reveal yourself to me
I yearn to see each brick come down
‘til all lay heaped upon on the ground

I know I see the gleam of gold
For between the cracks a light has shown
What is there I want to see
So take a chance babe, set it free!

Your love for me is truly splendid
But walls prevent its full surrender
Please let me bathe in loves true fire
and together we’ll walk till time expires
