slow, easy lovin'

Today the hopefulness I feel
is at least, something that I find real
today the warmth found in a smile
is heat that lingers for long whiles.

Yesterdays have come and gone
Each one has brought some joy, some pain.
The future’s tale has not as yet been shown
but the path to it has been with wisdom strewn

For many lessons learned are hard but true ,
don’t love in haste or a debt comes due.
A love that burns, hot as a sun
turns ashy before its scarce begun.

Much better to have a slow banked fire
whose radiance burns slowly higher
until these two begin to see
a glow in equal portions, he and she.

And finally one may truly say
That love has blossomed here this day
It took some time to reach this place
not in hurry, not in haste

It feels so comfortable and cozy
like soft slippers fluffed with woolsley
and this warm place is not easily threatened
but feels like hope and love unended
