Phoenix Love Affair

Can we ever part? Or is this forever?


Poem Artwork

It seems what you and I have got can never die
Time and again I hear a death bell knell
Inside my heart
Yet still in love I dwell
And cannot part.

I try to break this cord that binds us both, this chain
Sweet Chain, sweet cord, you draw me back again,
Close to your breast.  You hold me tight
Your lips on mine, drinking my breath, my light.
You do devour me and my soul takes flight.

Time and again, I try to break away
The ashes have burnt down and love is grey
The fire is but a glow, not even that.
It all seems cold
It all feels dead
It's grown old
Heavy as lead.

But then it bursts through some pain barrier like a storm.
The fire re-kindles, blazes up, love is re-born!

It ended eventually, but you're right, the love is still there forever on both sides :-)

There must be something that rekindles that spark into fire again. Perhaps, a deep enduring love that cannot be extinguished.
